To date, the Tennessee Financial Literacy Commission has worked to provide access to The Vault—Understanding Money interactive online program to more than 172 Tennessee elementary and middle schools and 22,767 students.

Empowering Tennesseans of all ages

The Tennessee Financial Literacy Commission recognizes the importance of sound financial practices and education for Tennesseans of all ages and has accomplished the following through the program to date:

  • 4300+ educators in Tennessee trained in the Financial Fitness for Life curriculum
  • Worked with school districts to implement custom financial education solutions
  • Delivered more than 29,000 hours of interactive learning to 170+ Tennessee schools through The Vault
  • Launched the Financial Empowerment Resource Library for adults, featuring convenient modules on key financial topics

The Tennessee Financial Literacy Commission (TNFLC) is a registered Tennessee Nonprofit Corporation and operates as a public charity under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Application for formal recognition as a 501(c)(3) organization is pending. Because TNFLC is also an instrumentality of the State of Tennessee, donations are currently tax-deductible under IRC 170(c)(1).

As a public charity, the IRS requires TNFLC to keep records of donees. Accordingly, all donations to TNFLC must contain your name and address. TNFLC will not publicize the names of donors, but upon request TNFLC can be compelled to release such information under the Tennessee Open Records Act.
