Do you know who your beneficiary is?

It's important to designate beneficiaries for each of your retirement accounts to ensure your benefits go to the people you intend.

Even if you have a will, if you haven't designated a beneficiary, plan rules will determine who receives your assets. Situations such as divorce, remarriage or death do not automatically change your beneficiaries. You must elect beneficiaries for both your Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) and your 401(k)/457 plans separately, even if designating the same beneficiary to both plans.

If you desire to name new beneficiaries, you may do so at any time prior to retirement, by following the steps below. If you have any questions or concerns regarding designating a beneficiary for your retirement accounts, please contact us at 1-800-922-7772.
