Law Enforcement Task Force

Law Enforcement Task Force

The Law Enforcement Task Force is co-chaired by
the Chairs of the Finance, Ways, and Means Committees
of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Law Enforcement Task Force

The Law Enforcement Task Force was created by the General Assembly to study retirement benefits for Tennessee's law enforcement officers.

The Task Force met to review and discuss retirement benefits for law enforcement officers across the State of Tennessee. Its purpose was to explore how retirement benefits impact the recruitment and retention of Tennessee law enforcement officers and make recommendations.

The Task Force prepared a report with its recommendations on legislative changes, financial impact of legislative changes, policy considerations, and solutions that do not require legislative changes. It will submit the report to the Council on Pensions by January 1, 2023.
