Established to allow contributions to a perpetual trust fund with the income from the fund supporting K-12 public education in Tennessee.
The Treasury Investments Division will manage the Volunteer Public Education Trust to empower your contributions to fund K-12 public education for years to come.
Earnings from the trust will be used to pay for special projects or programs deemed by the Commissioner of Education and the State Treasurer to improve the overall quality of the K-12 public education program. While the principal, or corpus, cannot be spent earnings from the trust can be used to provide programs or materials that would not otherwise be funded.
You can direct your contributions to fund a specific school district, creating a perpetual trust fund that could provide income to fund K-12 programs within that district.
