2025 Annual Employer Meetings

Meeting for Local Government and Local Education Agencies

Session 1: FY26 Employer Rates – The meeting was hosted virtually on Wednesday, March 19, to provide a chance to learn more about the actuarial process and gain general information on how employer contribution rates are calculated. Instructions to access employer rates for FY26 will also be covered.

Session 2: Retirement Policies, Best Practices, and Legislative Updates – This training session will cover essential topics such as retirement policies, legislative updates, and effective practices for reporting, employee engagement, and education. You can choose to attend Session 2 either virtually or in person, as both meetings will cover the same topics.

• Virtual training option Thursday, April 10 at 10 a.m. CT/11 a.m. ET

• In-person option Tuesday, April 15 from 10 a.m. until Noon CT at the Ellington Agricultural Center, Ed Jones Auditorium in Nashville. Due to room capacity, attendance will be capped at 150 attendees.

New Employee Orientation Video

The RetireReadyTN New Employee Orientation video will provide new employees with a complete introduction to the Hybrid Retirement Plan for State and Higher Education Employees and K-12 Teachers hired on or after July 1, 2014.

In approximately 15 minutes, new employees will learn about the TCRS and 401(k) components of their retirement plan including employer and employee contributions, how retirement benefits are calculated, and ways to access account information and retirement readiness resources.

Treasury Outreach has representatives in every region of the state and is working to increase and improve communications with State Agencies, Local governments, and Local education agencies.

The Outreach division educates employers participating in our retirement plans on the best retirement options for their employees and also works with counties and local governments not yet participating in our retirement plan to provide them with information about joining.

The State of Tennessee Old Age and Survivors Insurance Agency (OASI) is responsible for administering the Social Security and Medicare coverage program for Tennessee state and local (public) government employers pursuant to Section 218 of the Social Security Act.

As part of the legal requirements under the Act, the State of Tennessee is required to appoint a State Social Security Administrator. The State Social Security Administrator is not involved in the payment or calculation of benefits under Social Security or Medicare.
