Notification of data security breach
TCRS wants to alert retirees and their beneficiaries that their personal information may have been included in a data security breach experienced by MOVEit Transfer, a file transfer software utilized by Pension Benefits Information (PBI), a vendor that TCRS contracts for services. Files that contain personal information, including name, social security number, date of birth, and address may have been accessed by unauthorized third parties as part of this breach.
Communications will be sent directly to retirees and beneficiaries whose information may have been included in this data security breach. PBI will start sending letters directly to impacted members beginning July 28 with information on how to use 12 months of credit monitoring and identity restoration services provided by Kroll. TCRS originally communicated these letters would be received no later than July 15 based on initial estimates provided by PBI. However, due to the volume of organizations for which Kroll will be providing credit monitoring and identity restoration services, the date has been revised. We apologize for any confusion and encourage all impacted members to take advantage of this resource.
**8/1 UPDATE - Letters are being mailed by PBI this week. They will arrive by U.S. Mail.
