Advisory Council on Workers' Compensation

The Advisory Council on Workers' Compensation exists to provide information, research and recommendations concerning workers' compensation issues to the Tennessee General Assembly, the Department of Commerce and Insurance and the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Board of Claims

The Board of Claims provides general oversight of Tennessee's programs for compensating persons damaged by the State or its employees. The Board also reviews and authorizes the purchase of insurance for the State property insurance program and the State aviation insurance program.

Chairs of Excellence Trust

The Chairs of Excellence Trust is a permanent trust fund authorized in 1984 to further the cause of higher education in Tennessee. The funding of the program is provided through contributions made by a private donor and a matching amount by the state, thus creating a chair.

Collateral Pool Board

The Collateral Pool Board oversees the risk-sharing pool of collateral pledged by participating financial institutions to guarantee public deposits. The duties of the Board are found in TCA 9-4-508.

College Savings Trust Fund Board

The College Savings Trust Fund Board oversees the TNStars College Savings 529 Program and the Baccalaureate Education System Trust (BEST) Prepaid Plan, which was closed on November 30, 2015.

Council on Pensions

Created as a legislative oversight committee, the Council on Pensions develops, recommends and establishes pension and retirement standards and maintains a progressive state policy on retirement. Additionally, the Council reviews legislation affecting state-provided insurance programs for both active and retired members of the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System.

The K-12 Mental Health Trust Fund was created by the General Assembly in 2021 to provide mental health support to students in primary and secondary schools in Tennessee.

Board of Claims

The Board of Claims will meet at 10 a.m. (CT) June 22, 2022

The Board of Claims will meet at 10:00 a.m. (Central Time) June 22, 2022, in Conference Room D on the third floor of the Tennessee Tower, at 312 Rosa Parks Blvd., Nashville, Tennessee. The Board of Claims will consider the following:

  • Review and Approval of Minutes of March 25, 2022 meeting
  • Renewal of Insurance
  • Other Business

The Board of Directors of the Tennessee State Captive Insurance Company Meeting will begin immediately after the conclusion of the Board of Claims Meeting, which is anticipated to end at approximately 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22.
