Also, this position determines member eligibility for service purchase, recalculations, and refunds when applicable. A Service Counselor communicates effectively and professionally with members and employers. Additionally, this team member evaluates data on member records and makes any necessary corrections.

The Employer Education and Review Specialist, as a component of the Outreach team, serves as the regional employer reporting contact, assisting local education agencies, political subdivisions, and higher education employers with the technical submission of monthly reporting files to the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) defined benefit pension plan. As part of reporting training, the specialist also educates employers about the laws, policies, and provisions governing employer participation in TCRS.
